Date:

Kebbi State government has reiterated commitment to  improve the welfare of intending pilgrims for the 2025 hajj  in Saudi Arabia.

The Emir of Argungu, Alhaji Samaila Muhammad-Mera stated this during the inaugural meeting of the state government’s delegation for the hajj  and members of the Pilgrims Welfare Board, yesterday in Birnin Kebbi.

Muhammad-Mera, who is also the head of the delegation, pledged to ensure improved welfare of  pilgrims while in the holy land.

He urged members of the board to serve diligently to ensure improved welfare of  pilgrims, noting that the success of the exercise rests on them.

“Let me profoundly thank Governor Nasir Idris for giving me the opportunity to lead this year’s hajj delegation and I will ensure that each of the pilgrims get the attention they deserve.

“This is an opportunity to work for our religion, our people and our state.

“It is a herculean task, but I am calling on all of us to take this opportunity to work selflessly not for worldly benefits, but for the reward in the hereafter.

“We should put the fear of Allah in anything we do and commit ourselves to uplift the status, dignity and image of our state,” he said.
