An ilorin born Islamic Cleric, Mudir Morca, Sheikh Abubakar Haruna Rasheed has charged the kingdom of Saudi Arabia to improve infrastructural facilities at the prayer points for the annual Muslim pilgrimage
This was made known while speaking on the sidelines of the needs to draw the attention of the kingdom to the challenges being faced by the pilgrims during the holy exercise.
According to him, ” there is the urgent need to expand the space at Munna, Musalifa, Jamrah Saffah and Marwa and at the holy mosque to reduce the unnecessary challenges by the pilgrims
The lslamic cleric noted that the kingdom remains the only Sacred house for the Muslims world over, hence the need to make it less cumbersome for the congratulations for the exercise
He stressed that Holy pilgrimage, being the last pillar of Islam should be observed with ease not to portray lslam as difficult religion to practice, pointing out that the “PEACE” which the religion stands for should be maintained.
Haruna Rasheed, A regular visitor to the Holy land futher explained that, Islam remains the famous religion favoured by Allah and charged the kingdom to ensure that measures are put in place to improve the infrastructural facilities at all the prayer points during the period.
While advising pilgrims from Nigerian and other parts of Africa to obey the kingdom rules and regulations guiding the conduct of the exercise, he said that this became imperative in view of the available stressed being faced by pilgrims from the parts of the world.
“Nigeria remains one of the major stakeholders on the annual religious exercise, the need to plan ahead and improve on the welfare of the pilgrims, before, during and after the exercise remains the rallying point for it’s success” he added.
I want to implore the state pilgrim welfare boards and the agents to strengthen their activities towards aligning with Saudi Arabia guidelines on the welfare of the pilgrims to avoid the unnecessary challenges by the pilgrims”. the lslamic scholar further noted.
