Coalition of Registered Political Parties, CRPP, Edo State chapter has backed the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the September 21 election, Asue Ighodalo and his running mate, Osarodion Ogie.
The coalition in a statement by its Chairman, Samson Isibor, and Secretary, Andrew Ogbebor, said the decision to rally support for the PDP candidate was based on his antecedents and pedigree.
Isibor stated that CRPP had resolved to support and campaign for Ighodalo and Ogie joint ticket.
“The Coalition of Registered Political Parties came to the conclusion after extensive consultations with grassroots members of our group in the 18 local government councils of Edo State.
“We assessed the antecedents and pedigree of each contesting candidate, we found the PDP candidate(s) more credible to lead Edo people to the promised land,” the coalition stated.
It called on its members in the 18 local government areas to work assiduously and vote the PDP candidate in the election.
