A socio-economic and political advocacy group, the Niger Delta Civil Action Advocacy Group ,NDCAAG, has applauded Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, PAP. Dr. Dennis Burutu Otuaro, for his outstanding leadership and commitment to rejuvenating the PAP.
National President of the group Comrade Embale Jonathan, made the commendation in a statement in Abuja and made available to journalists.
Jonathan, noting that under Otuaro’s guidance the programme which was “kicking like a dying horseā, has been reinvigorated and placed on the path of socio-economic development, thus, achieving a peacefully progressive Niger Delta region.
According to him, the uncommon leadership qualities of the administrator, strategic foresight he brought to bear and the sincere dedication to addressing the genuine challenges facing the Niger Delta region have not gone unnoticed.
In this vein, Jonathan said, “the strategic regional engagements Otuaro has held since assumption of office, and the willingness to listen to the voices of the people have been instrumental in not only driving positive change and peace, but has also restored the confidence of the people on the governmentās commitment to addressing the regionās socio-economic woes”.
“The peace campaign through dialogue with stakeholders, giving listening ear and addressing their concerns, the right atmosphere is being provided as an outlet to vent the bottled-up aggressions of the region created over time by the failure of past administrations to tactically tackle the basic challenges for which the programme was conceived”, the statement quoted the national president as saying.
The NDCAAG is a non-governmental organisation dedicated to promoting good governance, transparency and accountability in the Niger Delta with objectives to address the socio-economic and environmental challenges facing the region through advocacy and community engagement.
