Group Lauds FG For FCT Project, Seeks Interventions In CouncilĀ

Date:

All Progressives Congress, APC, Concerned Residents stakeholders of Bwari Area Council, has commended the Federal Government for the transformative projects in FCT and appealed for interventions in the council.

Mr Mohammed Mubarak, the Coordinator of the group, said this in a statement yesterday in Abuja.

Mubarak appealed for effective service delivery and responsive governance in forms of welfare and social interventions as well as political appointments of Bwari Area Council residents in the FCT administration.

ā€œThe Federal Capital Territory Administration like other states is responsible for delivering essential services to its residents across the six area councils.

ā€œWe appeal to the Minister for political representation of residents in the FCT administration.

ā€œResidents need to be appointed in the FCT administration because they are in the best position to understand the needs and challenges of their community and to drive the necessary changes needed in the council.

ā€œWe have experienced and qualified individuals with track records of performance in FCT who can help achieve the renewed hope agenda of President Bola Tinubu at the grassroots when appointed by the FCT administration”, he said.

Mubarak said that the council had the numerical strength to also drive success and make equitable distribution of dividends of democracy to reach the majority at the grassroots.

This fact, he said, had been proven during the 2023 general elections where residents won the House of Representatives and Senate of the FCT with a landmark victory.

He appealed to Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Mr Nyesom Wike, to appoint residents of the council to give them for a sense of belonging.

He added that the appointment would make residents and stakeholders of the area council to be involved in the administration’s plans, policies, and programmes.
