Borno State governor, Babagana Zulum has presented staff of office to the 13th Shehu of Dikwa, Alhaji Ibrahim Ibn Umar Ibrahim El-Kenemi.
The staff of office formally recognises Shehu’s appointment and symbolises his authority.
Commissioner for Local Government and Emirates Affairs emphasised the importance of the staff of office.
Governor Zulum also reaffirmed his support for traditional institutions.
Also, a delegation of royal fathers from Borno, other parts of Nigeria and Cameroon were led by the Shehu of Borno and the Sultan of Sokoto.
Top government officials from the federal and state levels, commissioners, special advisers, senior special assistants and special assistants attended the event.
However, the event was marked by colourful displays of horsemen with the Shehu riding to show his allegiance to the governor.
Dignitaries present at the event included the Deputy Governor, Alhaji Umar Usman Kadafur.
