Gov Ortom Lays Foundation For New High Court At Aliade

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom, has noted that the future of the country was bright most especially that the world was gradually coming out of recession with Nigeria also adopting to best global practices of dealing with Covid-19 pandemic.

Ortom,who spoke on Tuesday, during the foundation laying ceremony for the construction of a High Court of Justice in Aliade, Gwer East Local Government Area of the state, said bringing the court closer to the people within the zone would reduce the cost of litigants who have to travel to Gboko, Makurdi or Otukpo, to access justice.

The governor noted that as one who believes in God, he was optimistic that despite compelling needs in the face of scarcity of funds, his administration would do everything possible to ensure that the work was completed expressing the readiness of his administration to complete the building before the expiration of his tenure.

The governor further told the people that his administration has enacted several laws in the state to impact positively on the lives of citizens in addition to robust working relationship among the three arms of government and called on the people to take ownership of the facility as well as remain law abiding to enable him do more.

In a remark, chief judge of the state, Justice Aondoaver Kakaan, also from the area commended Governor Ortom, for laying the foundation of the project he had personally demanded for in the past since 1989, expressing delight that it was a dream come true.
