Ebonyi state governor Francis Nwifuru has warned political office holders and stakeholders of the ruling All Progressives Congress not to hijack the plan 1.3 billion naira empowerment for empowering only their households.

The governor who had declared that one hundred persons would be selected across the 13-Local Government Areas in the state and to be given one million naira each said such would help prospective beneficiaries to start a meaningful livelihood.

Addressing stakeholders at Nchonu Ezza during the 2024 Oke-aku festival, the governor called on politicians to empower their youth meaningfully as to reduce restiveness and political touting.

Nwifuru equally announced the approval of Ndegu Ogbuinyaga four kilometers road, Akodoro bridge and 13-kilometres Oriuzor road will be built in the honour of Victor Chukwu.

He urged stakeholders to run an inclusive government especially in the capturing of non party members in the plan empowerment.

The governor who appealed for patience in the road project in the area noted that his administration would soon return back to the ring road site adding that the fluctuations in dollar affected the road project.

He enjoined Ezza people to continue supporting his administration while uniting together for the development of the entire state adding that the speculation that Ezza people are untrustworthy is fallacious as those who are working with him are reliable.

He further emphasized the need for Ezzas to work together as to produce a successor after his two terms in government noting that no section of the state can make themselves governor of the state.
