Gov Buni Honours Fallen Heroes On Armed Forces Remembrance Day


Yobe State Governor Mai Mala Buni, yesterday, laid wreath in honour of fallen heroes as part of activities marking the 2023 Armed Forces Remembrance Day Celebration.

The wreath-laying ceremony was performed at the Event Center Government House, Damaturu.

As part of welfare and taking of the needs of fallen heroes and veterans, the administration of Governor Mai Mala Buni continued to support next-of-kin of fallen soldiers while fighting insurgents and maintaining peace in the state.

Millions of naira was been donated by the Yobe State Government to families of soldiers killed or injured while working to save people’s lives and ensure security in the state.

The Yobe State Government had earlier donated N15 million to the State Chapter of the Nigerian Legion during an emblem appeal event launched at the Government House, Damaturu weeks ago.

Governor Mai Mala Buni also made a personal donation of N1 million during the event where close to N20 million was raised to support the association.

AljazirahNigeria, learnt thst the Deputy Governor, Speaker of the State House of Assembly, Brigade Commander of the 27th Task Force Brigade, Buni-Yadi, State Commissioner of Police, Director of the Department of State Services (DSS), State Chairman of the Nigerian Legion, Chairman of the State Council of Chiefs and Emir of Fika, and a widow of a fallen soldier also laid wreaths to honour the soldiers who died in the line of duty.
