Gombe Revamps 114 Primary Health Care Centres

Gombe State Government has revamped it’s 114 Primary Health Care Centres spread across all the electoral wards of the State.

Executive Secretary of the State Primary Health Care Development Agency (PHCDA), Dr. Abdurrahaman Shuaibu, said this was with the intension of reducing maternal and child mortality in the State.

According to him, Governor Muhammad Inuwa Yahaya has put in a lot of resources to reduce the rate of maternal and child mortality by revamping all primary health care centers.

As the foundation of health care system and being closer to the people especially at the rural area, the State Government executed the upgrade of the Health Care Centres to their logical conclusion.

Dr. Shu’aibu explained that Governor Inuwa has also given the approval for upgrading another set of primary health care centres (PHC), one in each Ward for further improvement and access to health care.

In the area of human resources, Dr. Shu’aibu stated that Governor Inuwa has gracefully approved the recruitment of 440 health care personnel last year and posted them to all primary health care facilities across the State on different cadres.

They include, midwives and community health extension workers.
