The Chief of Staff to President Bola Tinubu, Rt. Hon. Femi Gbajabiamila
has praised the National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure (NASENI) for its remarkable strides in technological advancements, product innovations, and contributions to various sectors of the Nigerian economy.
Gbajabiamila, along with the Deputy Chief of Staff, Senator Ibrahim Hadeija, and the Permanent Secretary of the State House, Engr. Olufunso Adebiyi, made these remarks during a familiarization visit to NASENI’s headquarters in Abuja on Thursday.
During the visit, Gbajabiamila explored NASENI’s facilities, including testing the agency’s electric vehicle pick-up van and visiting the NASENI Hatch Box, Innovation Hub, and Solar Irrigation Pump. He was also introduced to new products such as the Home Solar system, Prepaid Meter, Laptop, Smartphone, and Battery, among others.
The Chief of Staff explained that the visit was part of the administration’s ongoing engagement with government agencies under the Presidency’s supervision, aimed at understanding their mandates, activities, challenges, and alignment with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
After touring the NASENI Complex in the Idu Industrial Area and witnessing the new projects and products launched by the Executive Vice Chairman/CEO of NASENI, Mr. Khalil Suleiman Halilu, Gbajabiamila expressed his satisfaction with the agency’s progress.
“I am very pleased with this visit. Seeing firsthand the remarkable work being done here has been enlightening. The purpose of this trip was to gain a better understanding of NASENI’s operations, the challenges it faces, and its progress. I’m impressed by what I’ve seen and heard today,” Gbajabiamila stated.
He further lauded Halilu and his team for their dedication, noting that the significant advancements achieved within just 11 months under Halilu’s leadership demonstrate their commitment and passion. Gbajabiamila emphasized that NASENI is crucial to the President’s Renewed Hope Agenda, which aims to position Nigeria among leading nations in science and technology.
“In this technology-driven age, NASENI is one of the key agencies that will help fulfill President Tinubu’s vision for Nigeria. We have the resources—both material and human—to achieve this. I am grateful for the important work you are doing,” he added.
In his remarks, Halilu briefed the Chief of Staff on NASENI’s recent innovations, interventions, and partnerships designed to advance technology transfer and align with President Tinubu’s Renewed Hope Agenda.
“Under your guidance and the leadership of President Tinubu, NASENI has embarked on a transformative journey towards technological independence and industrial growth. With your unwavering support, we have made significant strides in achieving these goals,” Halilu said.
