Hon. Bukola Olopade, Chairman of the Main Organising Committee and Director General of the National Sports Commission (NSC), has expressed strong optimism that the 2024 National Sports Festival, tagged Gateway Games, will be a breeding ground for future world champions.
Speaking at the official opening ceremony on Sunday at the MKO Abiola International Stadium in Abeokuta, Ogun State, Olopade lauded the impressive level of talent and energy already evident in the competition.
He emphasized that the quality of performances at the Festival reflects Nigeria’s immense potential in global sports.
“With the standard of competition and the enthusiasm we’ve witnessed so far, I am confident that this Festival will produce many athletes who will go on to become world champions,” he stated.
