Gabify Foundation Puts Smiles On Faces Of Physically Challenged Nigerians

In its bid to put smiles on the faces of the physically challenged person in the country, a foundation of young Nigerians, known as Gabify foundation, has put smiles on the faces of many physically challenged persons in the federal capital territory by donating soccer items to better their life.

To this end, non-profit organization, Gabify Foundation has joined forces with the Para-Soccer Federation of Nigeria to empower physically challenged people through sports.

Speaking at the exhibition match among the People Living With Disabilities, PLWD, played at the Handball pitch inside Package B of Moshood Abiola National Stadium, Abuja which ended 5-2 in favour of Orange team, the Co-founder of Gabify Foundation, Ifeanyi Ameobi, expressed that helping those with disability in their careers was the inspiration behind partnering with the federation.

“Encouraging those with disabilities to participate in sports was the major reason we partnered with the Federation. This is not the end, we are also looking at encouraging people with disability in other sports and it will be a continuous event.”

He however, advised the well-meaning Nigerians to always come to the needs of the physically challenged people.

Also speaking, Gabify Foundation Co-founder Gabriel Okoloagu said the vision of the foundation is to engage in sports and enjoy it.

According to him, I think with this exhibition Games, I am encouraged and pleased.

“Everyone can see the drive players have toward para-soccer, I think this will encourage us to develop the sport more.

“We are looking forward to developing not just para soccer but para sports in the country. We will go to the grassroots, identify talents, develop them and market them abroad and make their life better through sports.”

“This kind of exhibition games will be from time to time. This is just the first edition, we intend to incorporate the female team and we are going to do it in another sport, we are just starting with para games, we are going to replicate it in all the para sports.”

In his remarks, the Vice-president of the Federation Coach Mansur Abdullahi, expressed gratitude for the kind gesture and urged other organizations to partner with the Para-Soccer Federation.

According to him, this indeed is encouraging and believe others will follow suit.
