Former Plateau Deputy Gov Charges Nasarawa Devt Areas Overseers On Dedication

 A former Deputy Governor of the old Plateau State Alhaji Halilu Bala Usman has tasked the recently appointed overseers of the Development Areas in Nasarawa state to discharge their duties dispassionately and with the fear of God in order to justify the confidence reposed on them by both the Governor of the state and their people.

They have also been advised to always ensure prudence, probity and accountability in all their actions and inactions which are in line with the policy thrust of the present administration they would be serving.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with AljazirahNigeria at Government House, Lafia, today, the former Deputy Governor cum traditional ruler congratulated all the appointees and also explored them to see their coming on board as an opportunity or call to serve their people.

“You should see your various appointment as a call to serve not you to be served or gold mine as such you should brace up to make the difference so that you can engrave your names on gold” he stressed.

HRH. Bala who is now a first class traditional ruler, the Osu- Ajiri in Nasarawa Local Government Area of the state further admonished the oversees to cooperate fully with their various council’s Chairmen and avoid any forms of conflicts or unnecessary disagreements that may bring about the disruption of vital services provision to the people.

He however, stated that in the event of any conflict they should always employ the spirit of dialogue and consultations with a view for them to get the best solutions.

Speaking about why no woman was appointed amongst them, the former Deputy Governor attributed such to the politics associated with the process,but expressed the optimism that the governor would consider them in his next set of appointments especially that he is gender sensitive and considerate in all activities.

To the people of the state, the Paramount ruler tasked them to ensure they accorded the overseers their support and cooperation which would in turn be of their betterment or advantage.

On why the overseer of his own area Hon. Salihu Adamu was the only one that returned for third term consecutively, the traditional ruler attributed such to his good record of performance in which he always exhibit a high sense of responsibility, decorum, respect and accountability as well as avoidance of conflicts in the discharge of his responsibilities.

He however, tasked him to continue to maintain such noble attributes in order to earn for himself a more higher position and urged all others to endeavor to emulate him so as to get such honour and recognition.
