Former APC Senatorial Aspirant In Nasarawa Urges Party To Punish Erring Stakeholders

A senatorial aspirant in the just concluded primary election of the All Progressive Congress APC in Nasarawa West, Nasarawa State, Barr. Labaran Shaibu Magaji, has stated that it is high time for the Party’s sincere stakeholders to make sure that people working in the party must be forced to do the right thing or face punished, if found wanting.

Magaji who made this known in an interview with Journalists in Toto Local Government Area of Nasarawa State during an event organised in his honour by the APC stakeholders of the area to officially welcome him back home for the first time after the senatorial primaries elections which he participated as an aspirant, stated that he still has hope in APC.

According to him, APC is different while people in APC are different,adding that the mechanism through which APC is being sold remain a big problem and not the party.

“Some people misconstrued it that i am fighting certain individuals which am not rather am fighting the process so that the APC that we love,we cherish should continue to be the party that everybody will love.

“So, we have to make sure that people working in the party must be forced to do the right thing and that is our mission.

“If you found your way in the course of the process then of course you will be affected by the outcome of the actions” Magaji stated.

Answering a question as regards the outcome of the said primary election which he was not satisfied with the result and subsequently channelled his complained before an appeal committee he said he is optimistic the party would do the needful.

“We believe that APC been a party characterize by fairness going by its fundamental principals will certainly look at our case and do  the needful.

“That not withstanding, because we are conscious of the fact that there is a 14 day window given to every aggrieved party having finished the internal mechanism of the party with respect to it’s grievances to approach the court.

“As I speak with you, we have already filed our petition before the court and we are fully aware that the parties are in the process of being served and the matter is fixed for the 12 of July to enable the court look into it”.

When asked if he could agree to come to terms with his opponent outside court as a result of alleged pressure, Magaji stated,” While the party has procedures for doing everything which we are following.
