Yobe State governor, Mai Mala Buni has reiterated his administration’s commitment to support young farmers and ensure food security.

Governor Buni disclosed this when the new Emir of Tikau, Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Grema, paid him a thank you visit at the Government House, Damaturu.

According to him, the state government would support 20 young farmers from each of the 178 political wards with farm inputs this cropping season.

“This is to provide employment to our youths and to boost food sufficiency and food security,” he said.

The governor also charged traditional and religious leaders, and parents on youth upbringing with decent morals.

Buni reiterated the collective responsibility to rebuild the eroding culture of discipline, decency and righteousness in youths for a better future.

“Government, traditional authorities and parents have the responsibility to arrest the growing decay in morality, discipline and drug abuse,” the governor noted.

He urged the new emir to be just and fair to all and a good ambassador of peace, unity and development.
