Adamawa State Governor, Ahmadu Fintiri has reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening traditional institutions for the development of the state.
Fintiri stated this at the maiden Nnoma-Jhar National Day 2025 celebration at Murum Mbula, Demsa Local Government Area on Thursday.
Fintiri, who was represented by Mr Titus Solomon, the State Commissioner for Rural Development said the occasion was a bold step towards promoting peaceful coexistence among the ethnic group, not only in the state but the country as a whole.
He urged them to remain united and contribute their own part for the development of the state and country at large.
Gov. Bala Mohammed of Bauchi State, described Jhar tribe as peace loving people irrespective of religious beliefs.
The Governor, who was represented by the Emir of Dass, Alhaji Usman Bilyaminu, expressed optimism for the promotion of unity and development among his people.
He appreciated Fintiri for being a good host for them to witness such a historic occasion in the state.
In his address, the paramount ruler of Mbula, Murum, Mbula Bentley Mboiman II said the maiden national day was a pilot scheme to lay a foundation for a much broader inclusive assembly for them.
“Today, we have made history by taking the first step, let us continue to build on this foundation and may the light we have kindle today shine even brighter in the years to come”, he said.
He further appreciated Fintri for his contribution towards promoting cultural heritage in the state.
The News Agency of Nigeria ,NAN, reports that the Murum Mbula also conferred the traditional title of Talaban on Gov. Mohammed of Bauchi meaning brightness of Mbula and Chief Inuwa Bassi among 11 others.
