There are strong indications that the Federal Capital Territory Administration, FCTA, is set to carry out installation of streetlights on the 10-year-ld OSEX ll road from Apo-Wassa.

FCT Minister, Nyesom Wike made this revelation during a routine project inspection in Abuja, Thursday.

The road, now completed under the Wike administration, was abandoned for nearly a decade by previous FCT administrations.

The minister acknowledged that the absence of streetlights on the road was as a result of oversight in the original contract, which was awarded over 10 years ago.

“It was not awarded by this administration, but President Bola Tinubu insisted that we must complete abandoned projects. I have directed that streetlights be installed. CGC has already submitted their quotation,” Wike said, assuring residents of improved safety once the lights are in place.

The minister also visited the Kubwa interchange and Daki Biyu road, both of which he said are nearing completion and are among the key projects slated for inauguration to mark the two years anniversary of President  Tinubu’s administration  in June.

“The quality of work that we are seeing is impressive. Abuja residents deserve the best and that is what Mr President is delivering,” he stated.

Reflecting on Tinubu’s two years in office, Wike praised the administration’s achievements, especially in the FCT.

On the lingering strike by primary school teachers under  area councils, he expressed concern and called on elected council chairmen and National Assembly committees to step up.
