Officials from the Federal Capital Territory Administration (FCTA), acting under the directive of FCT Minister Nyesom Wike, have sealed the national headquarters of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Wadata Plaza, in Abuja.
At exactly 2:06 pm on Monday, FCTA staff arrived at the PDP secretariat, located in Wuse Zone 5, and locked the main entrance, effectively barring access to the premises.
This development comes in the wake of the FCTA’s announcement on Sunday regarding its plans to reclaim properties whose land titles were revoked over prolonged non-payment of ground rent. According to the administration, a total of 4,794 land titles have been affected, with outstanding debts spanning between 10 to 43 years.
The closure of Wadata Plaza has already disrupted key party activities, including a scheduled meeting of the PDP’s Board of Trustees, which was to precede a high-level caucus session now being held at the Bauchi State Government Lodge in Abuja.
