A former Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, National Woman Leader, United Kingdom chapter, Ambassador Yeye Abimbola Animashaun Abdul, has reiterated her loyalty and commitment to the party’s leadership.
She stated that it is imperative as a public servant, from time to time, inform the public, especially her followers, about her position on the political affairs within the party and Nigerian politics generally at home and abroad for everyone to be guided forthwith.
The humanitarian and philanthropist maintained that she remained focused on her humanitarian services and the future without distractions.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, the PDP chieftain stated that she owes anyone debt of loyalty and commitments, but chose to serve humanity as a philanthropist, PDP member and a Democrat at home and diaspora, for sustainable development of human capital in Nigeria.
“Be guided also that I do not eat PDP or PDP aspirants any penny for over 22 years of my active participation in PDP political activities in the UK and Nigeria. The records are there in the UK chapter of PDP, Alimosho Local Government Area and Lagos State in Nigeria.
“Rather, I have had reasons as a Democrat and PDP member to spend my hard earned money for the development of PDP in UK Chapter as a member and leader should, in the capacity of PDP National Woman Leader in the UK.
“Recall that, as Woman leader in the diaspora, I served meritoriously and selflessly without prejudices to our diversities at home and diaspora. The records are there for verifications by anyone who deems it so.
“I did all for democracy and PDP in Nigeria while in the UK and returned to Lagos State and Alimosho Local Government Area in particular, and as usual, demonstrated resilience in the support of PDP development and humanity there.
On her position in the internal politics of the party, she said she remained loyal and committed to PDP leadership as considered legitimate at the 99th National Executive Committee, NEC, meeting at Legacy House, Maitama, Abuja, on the 27th May, 2025, going forward.
On the matter of who should be Nigeria’s 2027 President, the she noted that she constitutional has the right to align with the most viable alternative presidential candidate to unseat the incumbent All Progressives Congress, APC- led Federal Government under President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, noting that her choice will be certainly from who should be PDP 2027 presidential candidate as a member of PDP and an eligible voter in Nigeria.
“In view of the foregoing, I have made up my mind to announce my choice of PDP presidential candidate whom I shall support as usual in a months time from now. This is important because my choice will be guided by informed political decisions as we prepare for 2027 presidential primaries and secondary elections in Nigeria.
“Finally, I congratulate the PDP National Convention Organizing Committee headed by Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State; Chairman, Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State; Vice Chairman and Governor Peter Mbah of Enugu State, Secretary of August PDP National Convention.
“I, in the same vein, celebrate PDP National Executive Committee, National Caucus, Board of Trustees, National Working Committee and PDP Governors Forum for their steadfast commitments to ensuring that PDP remains the viable alternative opposition party in Nigeria despite all odds”, she stated.
