Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri of Adamawa has called on the Muslim Ummah to emulate the virtues of sacrifice, obedience and righteousness of Prophet Ibrahim and his Son, Ishaku as they celebrate this year’s Eid-el-Kabir.
Apart from praying for Allah’s blessings upon Muslim faithfuls, the governor also asked the Muslims to demonstrate the spirit of compassion, generosity and forgiveness.
Felicitating with Muslims in Adamawa State and across the country on the occasion of Eid-el-Kabir Sallah celebration, the governor encouraged citizens in the State to cultivate the spirit of patience and endurance in the wake of the current harsh realities and to have faith in the country’s ability to overcome them.
A statement signed by the chief press secretary to the Governor, Humashi Wonosikou indicated that the governor had expressed optimism in the resolve of the people of the state to sustain peaceful coexistence owing to the demonstrated commitment for peace by the people and long history of the peaceful posture of the state.
“Let us draw strength from our diversity and our shared humanity. Let us work together to build a brighter future for all. Eid-el-Kabir reminds us that with faith, perseverance, and sacrifice, we can overcome even the most daunting challenges,” he said.
While wishing the Muslim community a joyous and peaceful Eid-el-Kabir, the governor assured the people of his administration’s continued commitment to promoting peace, unity, and prosperity for all Adamawa State citizens.
