Delta State Governor, Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori has charged Corps Members posted to the state to embrace the values of discipline, team work, respect and cultural diversities as they settle for the roles that would be assigned to them.
Oborevwori, who was represented by the Commissioner for Youth Development, Barr ThankGod Trakiriowei, gave the charge at the formal Swearing-in Ceremony of the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 Orientation Course at the Permanent Orientation Camp, Issele-Uku, Aniocha North Local Government Area of the state.
He said the NYSC Orientation Course was deliberately designed to instill discipline, foster unity and prepare Corps Members for their roles in Nation-building.
“I am happy to be here today to welcome these dynamic youths of our great nation, who make up the 2024 Batch ‘C’ Stream 1 national youth service corps members posted to Delta State.
“Let me assure you that the people of Delta State are warm, hospitable and eager to work with you. As you settle into your roles, I urge you to embrace the values of discipline, team work, respect and cultural diversities of the State.
“Delta State offers immense opportunity for growth, collaboration and learning. I encourage you to seize this chance to leave a legacy of positive impact and take with you valuable lessons that would shape your future”, the Governor said.
State coordinator of the scheme, Mr. John Kwaghe thanked the governor for his unwavering support for the activities of the NYSC.
Kwaghe said since the commencement of registration on November 27, 2024, a total of 1,464 prospective corps members, comprising 682 males 782, females have been duly registered.
