Eid-el-Fitr: Let’s Be Our Brother’s Keeper – Kwara Govt Urges Nigerians

Muslim community in Ilorin Emirate, Kwara State observed the two-rakkah prayers marking the end of the Ramadan fast amid prayers for the state and the country.

Held at the Ilorin Central Praying Ground, the prayer was led by the Chief Imam of Ilorin, Sheikh Muhammad Bashir Solihu.

“We urge all Kwarans and Nigerians to imbibe the lessons of Ramadan in the intervening months. We should be our brothers’ keeper, be peaceful in our conduct and pray for peace and stability of Kwara State and Nigeria at large,” leader of the government delegation and Majority Leader of the Kwara State House of Assembly, Abdulkadir  Magaji,  told journalists after the prayers. 

Governor AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, who usually  leads the delegation, is away in Saudi Arabia to perform the Lesser Hajj.

Magaji called for continued support of Nigerians for the government of President Bola  Tinubu and Governor AbdulRazaq, saying: “with your support, Mr President and the governor are going to lead us to the promised land.”

The prayer was attended by the Emir of Ilorin and Chairman, State Traditional Council,  Ibrahim Sulu-Gambari.

The emir congratulated all sons and daughters of the emirate and the people of the state for the successful completion of fasting and a peaceful eid.

He prayed for the safe return of Governor AbdulRazaq from the holy land and commended the administration’s giant strides and the commitment to peace.

Chieftain of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Yahaya Seriki, enjoined the people of the emirate to continue to love one another and support the present administration to succeed.
