Adamawa State governor, Ahmadu Fintiri has pledged to continue to promote peace and tranquility in communities, state and the country at large.
Fintiri, who gave the assurance shortly after the Eid prayers in Fufore Emirate yesterday, urged citizens to continue to live with the legacy of the month of Ramadan.
“We will continue as a government to ensure that we work on the peace and tranquility among our communities in the state and country at large
“I urge our people to continue to co-exist and respect each other, and continue to enjoy the dividends of democracy,” the governor said.
In his sermon, the Chief Imam of Fufore Central Mosque, Alhaji Ya’Uba Aminu described Sallah celebration as a time for happiness and forgiveness.
He emphasised the significance of sacrifice, which, according to him, is characterised by giving charity to the needy for more blessings from Almighty God.
Aminu also called on citizens to always promote peaceful coexistence in their respective communities.
In his address, the Lamido of Fufore, Mohammad Ribadu appreciated the state government for creating the emirate and gracing the historic Sallah celebration.
He called for unity, peace and love among the people in the emirate irrespective of their differences, adding that this would foster development.
The Eid-El-Fitr celebration included a durbar organised by the Lamido for the governor.
