EFCC Arrests 40  Internet Fraudsters in Niger

Forty suspected internet fraudsters have been arrested in Niger State by operatives of the  Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, Kaduna Zonal Directorate.

According to a statement from the Head of  Media and Publicity, Dele Oyewale, the suspects were arrested following credible intelligence that linked them to fraudulent internet activities in Bida and Minna.

According to the statement, items recovered from them include three cars, eight power generating sets, one Hisense air conditioner, two power stabilisers, 10 motorcycles, eight laptops, four bluetooth speakers and 60 android phones.

Others are fetish items that include three calabashes adorned with feathers, traditionally made soap and sponge, a bottle of hot drink, 20 cowries, a waist bead and four ladies under wears.

They would soon be charged to court immediately  investigations are concluded, the statement added.
