Edo LP Passes Vote Of Confidence On Abure

The leadership of the Labour Party (LP) in Edo State on Tuesday has condemned in strong terms the attitude of some persons who invaded the Secretariat of the Labour Party in Abuja recently to demand the sack of its national chairman, Julius Abure.

The Edo LP also pledged its readiness to rally support for its Governorship Candidate, Olumide Akpata towards ensuring victory in the coming election in Edo State.

Briefing newsmen in Benin City, Edo State Caretaker Committee Chairman Labour Party (LP), Honourable Elizabeth Ativie said the invaders were sponsored by some persons who do not wish the Party well.

Ative, who said the leaders and members of the Labour Party in Edo State are strongly behind the National Chairman, Julius Abure .

According to her, Those trying to divide the Labour Party should have a rethink and work for the party to move forward in Nigeria.

“Those protesters were hired to undermine the Labour Party as they were rented from nearby Market in Abuja.

“Barrister Julius Abure, the national chairman of Labour Party is a jolly good fellow who has moved the party to an enviable height.

“Under his leadership in the party, we now have a Governor, National and state Assembly members in the Labour Party. Such person should be well Commended and congratulated.”

The Edo LP chairman urged all members of the party to promote a peaceful atmosphere and allow the party to win more positions ahead of the forthcoming election in Edo and others across the country.

“We the leaders and members of the Labour Party in Edo State headed by my humble self, Rt Hon. Mrs Elizabeth Ativie are strong behind Barrister Julius Abure, our indefatigable, articulate and vibrant National Chairman.

“I hereby appeal to all members of the Labour Party to rally round our candidate towards ensuring victory in the coming election in Edo State come 21 September, 2024.” Ativie said.
