Five political parties yesterday affirmed the victory of Senator Monday Okpebholo in the September 21 governorship election in Edo State, describing it as the most credible in the history of elections in the state.
The parties, under the aegis of Assembly of Registered Political Parties, ARPP, disclosed that the electoral umpire should be given a pat on the back for excellent display of professionalism.

The parties congratulated the governor-elect and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa, as well as the All Progressives Congress, APC, for the victory, saying the result of the election was delightfully accepted by the five political parties.
“The people gathered here today are members of the Assembly of Registered Political Parties with their respective governorship candidates that participated in the just concluded Edo governorship election, this press conference is predicated on the following; that the governorship election conducted in Edo State remains the freest, fairest, rancour free and credible. INEC and security agents that were involved in the election process should be highly commended for a job well done.
“We therefore accept the outcome of the election with so much excitement and we also congratulate our Senator Okpebholo and Idahosa for a well deserved victory,” Akhalamhe said.
