Men of the State State Service have allegedly arrested Mr. Godwin Meliga, President of Middle Belt Youth Vanguard, Saturday at midnight.

Meliga, was part of the coalition of groups who held press conferences in Abuja, alleging the plot by the SSS to frame the CBN Governor, Mr Godwin Emefiele, for Terrorism Financing.

The groups’ publicity secretary, Mr Abbah Owoicho, who released a statement to this effect to newsmen on Monday, said the security service men stormed Meliga’s residence in Gwarimpa at midnight, surrendered the security guard, broke down the protector and barged into the house.

The statement added that family members who confirmed the activist’s arrest, stated that following the entry of the security officials, the youth forum president was assaulted severely before he was taken away in handcuffs.

The family had disclosed that the men of the Service had been on his trail as they had earlier arrested one Samson Babalola on Thursday who was said to be with Mr. Meliga’s car.

The family further confirmed that family contacts within the Service have confirmed to them that he was arrested for allegedly causing the Service untold embarrassment through the exposure of the plot to frame the CBN Governor.

The statement read partly.

Meliga, who has been weeping since the attack on her husband said that Comrade Meliga has routine drugs he takes religiously and this unwarranted arrest would put his life in grave danger.
