In a remarkable display of endurance and humor, Nigerian comedian Dr. Laff Ijuo Albert has completed a 50-hour stand-up comedy marathon, surpassing the previous Guinness World Record of 40 hours and 8 minutes held by American comedian David Scott since 2013.
The marathon, which commenced on February 14, 2025, at Banex Mall in Lekki, Lagos, was not only an attempt to break a world record but also a fundraiser for Dr. Laff’s “Talent City Naija” project.
This initiative aims to create a hub where Nigeria’s most skilled and creative young talents can thrive, providing them with a space to live comfortably, collaborate, and showcase their crafts on a global stage.
Upon reaching the 50-hour mark, Dr. Laff shared a video of the jubilant moment on his Instagram page, expressing gratitude to his supporters and emphasizing the importance of perseverance in achieving one’s dreams.
His achievement is now subject to verification and confirmation by the Guinness World Records.
