Benue State governor, Hyacinth Alia has approved the construction of more roads to ease the movement of people and goods.
Governor Alia, who made the appeal when he paid a thank you visit to the people of Sankera on Tuesday at Akume Atongo Stadium in Katsina-ala Local Government Area, said he came to appreciate the people of Benue for the massive votes and continued support after his election.
He also revealed that after consultation on Sankera-Chito-Vaase road, the president complemented his efforts by equally approving the rehabilitation of Katsina-ala head bridge portion of the road that is in a deplorable shape through Hausa quarters to Victory Bible Church.
The governor also disclosed that President Bola Tinubu had given approval that Wukari Junction-Zaki Biam through yam market down to the Y- junction also in Ukum Local Government Area be equally tarred.
He said his administration is determined to give Makurdi, the state capital, a facelift before concentrating on other places.
He appealed to the people to be patient with his administration, expressing optimism that he and President Tinubu would not disappoint the masses.
The governor urged the people to remain vigilant, as security is a collective responsibility.
He also urged them to always support his administration to deliver more dividends of democracy, as what they have witnessed so far is a tip of the iceberg.
Speaking on behalf of the people of Sankera, the member representing Logo, Ukum and Katsina-ala Federal Constituency, Solomon Wombo expressed appreciation to the governor for approving the roads, but appealed that he should take the issue of security more seriously so that the people, who are predominantly farmers, would go back to their homes and concentrate on farming activities to be able to feed the nation like in the past.
