Customs Area Comptroller of the Ogun II Area Command, Comptroller Bisi Alade, said the command generated over ₦15bn in revenue between January and April 2025.
Speaking at a news conference in Abeokuta on Friday, Alade said the revenue marked a 40% increase from the over N9bn collected in the same period in 2024.
He attributed the success to the command’s strategic operations, commitment to duty, and enhanced collaboration among personnel.
He said, “This achievement is a testament to the diligence, commitment and professionalism of our officers and men who have worked tirelessly to ensure we exceed our revenue targets.
“It is also indicative of our unwavering commitment to the economic growth and development of our nation”.
Alade explained that “More than N8bn of the revenue came from excise duties, while over N7bn was realised from the Free Trade Zone”.
He commended the Comptroller General of Customs, Bashir Adeniyi, for helping to shape the command’s current success.
“We will continue to dialogue and educate the stakeholders and the local business community. We shall maintain success through synergy with other partners while discharging our statutory responsibilities”, he said.
The controller reaffirmed the command’s resolve to build on its current achievements and exceed revenue and enforcement benchmarks in the months ahead, with improved compliance from stakeholders.
