Suspected cult group on Friday night killed a physically challenged man, Mutual Akinbami, popularly called Igor, while riding on a motorcycle in Abeokuta metropolis.
Akinbami was shot dead between Brewery bus stop and Olomoore Junction around 6:13pm by his assailants who drove a tinted Toyota Hilux truck whose registration number plate could not be ascertained.
Our correspondent gathered that the victim, who was riding on the motorbike with his daughter, was one of the immediate past councilors at Abeokuta North Local Government Area.
Eyewitness and some members of the National Union of Road Transport Workers, NURTW, said Akinbami’s assailants had trailed him from his house located around Olomoore Federal Housing Estate, FHE, and immediately made a detour at Brewery after their mission was completed.
News of his death, however, elicited discussions among several people in Brewery and Olomoore Junction, majority of who claimed that he was a dreaded member of Eiye secret cult.
