Coalition for National Rehabilitation and Reconstruction ( CNRR) has called on the President, Sen Bola Ahmed Tinubu to immediately suspend the Managing Director, Federal Road Maintenance Agency, FERMA, Engr Emeka Agbasi over alleged job racketeering, abuse of financial procedure and misconduct
The coalition also asked the Anti- Graft Agencies , the Economic Financial Crime Commission, EFCC, and the Independent Corruption Practices and other Related Matters Commission to investigate the embattled FERMA Managing Director .
Addressing journalists at a protest held at the headquarters of the agency, Alhaji Ali Abacha who spoke on behalf of the coalition said the coalition had petitioned the president to take urgent steps in addressing the alleged corruption in the agency.
” We the members of Coalition for National Rehabilitation and Reconstruction (CNRR) do hereby urgently make a plea to the president and commander in chief of the Armed Forces , Federal Republic of Nigeria, His EXCELLENCY, Asiwagu Bola Ahmed Tinubu to without delay suspend, investigate and possibly prosecute the Managing Director of the Federal Road Maintenance Agency on the following grounds. Selling jobs upfront and collection of gratification, gross abuse of financial procedure and regulations leading to the swapping and virement of payments without due process and acquisition of unexplainable wealth amongst others”
The coalition argued that the criminal breach of the FERMA Act and it’s malfeasance has brought serious embarrassed to president Tinubu’s fight against corruption .
