Buhari Sacks Malami,  Others For Purchasing Nomination Forms

Political tsunami on Wednesday hit the cabinet of President Muhammadu Buhari as he ordered that the Attorney-General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami; Minister of Transport, Rotimi Amaechi; Minister of Science, Technology and Innovation, Dr.

Ogbonnaya Onu; Minister of Labour and Employment,  Dr. Chris Ngige; Minister of State, Education, Dr. Chukwuemeka Nwajiuba, and other appointees who have purchased nomination and interest forms to contest the 2023 general elections to immediately vacate their offices.

President Muhammadu Buhari has asked all his ministers with political ambitions to resign immediately.

He gave the order at the federal executive Council meeting at the State House, Abuja on Wednesday.

The resignation is expected on or before Monday the 16th of May, 2022.

The Minister of information and Culture, Lai Mohamed, disclosed this on Wednesday during the Federal Executive Council meeting.

He said that the directive excludes the Vice President, Prof Yemi Osinbajo.

The Information Minister affirmed that if there are any amendments or additions to this directive they would be made shortly.

According to the Minister, the directive might involve political appointees, if the need arises.

He added that the directive excludes the Vice President because he is an elected member of the cabinet.
