‘Breakdown Of Transformer,  Responsible For Water Scarcity In Jos’

Date:

Management of Jos Water Services Corporation, JWSC, has attributed the unavailability of potable water in Jos-Bukuru metropolis to the breakdown of its Yakubu Gwom treatment plant transformer.

Its Managing Director, Mr Apollos Samchi, said this yesterday in a statement issued by the corporation’s Public Relations Manager, Mr Nangor Ndam.

Samchi said the Yakubu Gowon treatment plant,   a major water treatment plant that supplies potable water to Jos-Bukuru Metropolis, has not been pumping water since January 10,  due to the breakdown of its transformer caused by electrical surge.

He said  JWSC’s management and technical personnel are working proactively  to ensure that the transformer is fixed  to commence the supply of potable water to Jos-Bukuru metropolis.

The  managing director revealed that  Laminga water treatment plant near British American junction and Nabor gwong treatment plants are functional .

He appealed  to   customers and the general public to  remain calm, while everything is being done to fix the transformer.(NAN)
