Inspector-General of Police, IGP, Kayode Egbetokun, has condemned the attack at Nganzai Divisional Police Headquarters in Borno State last Thursday, which led to the death of two police officers: Inspector Bartholomew Kalawa and Corporal Mustapha Huzaifat.Â
Egbetokun ordered immediate and thorough clampdown, stating that cop-killers would not go unpunished.
The police chief, in a response to the recent attack, expressed deep condolences to the families of the deceased officers, affirming that their sacrifices in the line of duty will not be forgotten and that their benefits and entitlements will be paid to their families without delay.
According to a statement issued by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi: “The IGP has therefore directed the Assistant Inspector-General of Police, Zone 15, AIG Kenechukwu Onwuemelie to mobilise adequate resources and personnel, and collaborate with other security agencies to ensure that the perpetrators of this nefarious act are found and face the full wrath of the law.
“As investigations continue, the IGP reaffirms the commitment of the Nigeria Police Force to hold accountable, those who jeopardise and disrupt security arrangements and safety in Nigeria.
