The Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in Benue State has suspended its State Chairman, John Ngbede, State Secretary, Joseph Nyam, and State Organizing Secretary, Moses Audu, from office for a period of one month.
Bemgba Iortyom the party’s Publicity Secretary in a statement yesterday in Makurdi, said this decision was taken at an extraordinary meeting of the State Working Committee on Saturday, August 3, 2024, attended by 9 out of 13 members.
He said the suspended officials are accused of forging and impersonating the State Working Committee to achieve personal aims, instigating violence and crisis during the recent ward congresses, and mismanaging party finances.
Iortyom noted that following the development, the State Deputy Chairman Isaac Mffo has been appointed as the Acting State Chairman.
According to the statement,the suspended officials are required to appear before the Disciplinary Committee to address the charges brought against them within the suspension period.
The statement further advised the PDP family and the general public to take note of this development.
Efforts by Aljazirah Nigeria to get reaction from those suspended through phone calls at the time of filling this report failed.
