Benue State Deputy Governor, Dr Sam Ode has sued for sustained unity of purpose among the political class in order to ensure meaningful development.
Ode, who gave the advice at a thanksgiving service in honour of Governor Hyacinth Alia’s 59th birthday held at the Chapel of Grace, Government House, Makurdi, emphasised that such collaboration is the only tool that people need to overcome the present challenges.
He commended Governor Alia for performing excellently in his first tenure, particularly in the area of security and other critical infrastructure, thanking God for his new age.
Ode called on Benue people to continue to support the governor to enable him deliver the dividends of democracy, praying God to grant him long life, more knowledge and wisdom to take the state to higher heights.
In his sermon, spiritual director to the governor, Reverend Father Clement Ugo called on believers to learn to appreciate God, as well as show love to one another as done by Jesus.
