Benue CP Warn Against Destruction Of Political Campaign Billboards

has warned political parties and their supporters against destroying campaign billboards of opponents as campaign activities have kick started.

The Benue CP in a statement by the Commands Public Relations Officer, PPRO, Sewuese Anene in Makurdi, today said the Command’s attention has been drawn to the mischievous act of destroying political campaign posters and bill boards by hoodlums, describing the act as barbaric.

Against this backdrop the Benue police commissioner has directed all Area Commanders and Divisional Police Officers, DPOs, that such activities does not happen within their areas of jurisdiction.

He reminded political parties and their executives of their earlier peace pact which he recalled dated back December 9, 2022, where they all agreed to maintain a peaceful campaigns throughout the electoral period and urged them to keep to the agreement.

CP Abass who called on Party executives to warn their subjects from the mischievous act, warned that party executives who failed to provide supporters in a situation where such acts are perpetrated will be held responsible.
