*Uzodimma, Uba spearheaded endorsement

As the preparations to return President Bola Tinubu for a second term thicken, the Progressives Governors’ Forum, the APC controlled National Assembly leaders as well the National Working Committee of the party, yesterday, endorsed President Tinubu as the sole candidate for 2027 presidential election.
All the twenty two All Progressives Congress, APC, governors made the endorsement at a National Summit held in Abuja.
AljazirahNigeria reports that the motion for Tinubu’s endorsement was moved by Imo State Governor and Chairman of the Progressives Governors’ Forum, Senator Hope Uzodimma and seconded by Kaduna State Governor, Senator Uba Sani.
Uzodimma, who spoke on behalf of 21 other governors, emphasised commitment to mobilising resources and ensuring victory for Tinubu in their respective states.
The governors expressed confidence in Tinubu’s leadership and reforms, promising to deliver their states in the upcoming elections.
In the same vein, the President of the Senate, Godswill Akpabio and the Speaker, House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas took turn to pour encomium on President Tinubu for fixing the country within the shortest time, that the only reward they have for him is to return him so as to continue leading Nigeria to more victories . The Speaker, Tajudeen Abbas said, Nigeria is safe in the hands of President Tinubu for a second term in office.
Also, Dr Umar Ganduje, the former Kano State Governor, and the present APC Chairman who has distinguished himself in party politics especially since he has assumed the acting National chairmanship position . Ganduje has made a tremendous achievement especially the recent gale of defections sweeping across the length and breathe of this country, which has given the ruling APC in both chambers of the NASS a comfortable majority and given more Governors’ and opposition parties supposed stalwarts jumping ship.
Importantly, in his usual boisterous show of courage, filled with a lot of exuberance said , in his acceptance speech, President Tinubu said, ” For those people making noise about defections and claiming one party State, they should be assured that more is coming to join the APC, in fact, I would love all of them to come over and joined the APC “bailing out of a sinking ship with no life jackets.”
“I just need to tell those who say a one-party system is not good.
“You do not blame a people bailing out of a sinking ship when they have no life jackets,
“I am glad for what we have, and I’m expecting more to come. That is the game. Welcome to progressives ; sweep them clean.”
Meanwhile, Akwa Ibom State Governor , Umo Eno, it was gathered has mandated the state commissioners and other appointees to join him in the APC or quit this strengthening feelers that Eno, is set to join the All Progressives Congress.
The endorsement follows similar moves by other APC regional leaders, including the North Central governors who recently passed a vote of confidence in Tinubu’s administration, praising his developmental strides and inclusive governance approach.
The endorsement many believe is a strong indication of party unity as Tinubu warms up for a second term bid.
