Commander of 4 Special Forces, Doma, Nasarawa State, Major-General Hillary Nzan has reiterated commitment to prioritise the welfare of personnel and motivate them for optimal performance.
Nzan said this at an event to commemorate the annual West African Social Activities, WASA, at the Headquarters of the command yesterday in Doma.
He noted that the command recognises the importance of motivation in driving performance and achieving success against kidnapping, banditry, terrorism and other criminal activities.
According to him, the command is committed to providing them with the necessary support and resources to decimate all forms of criminalities in the North-Central Zone.
“This is in line with the Chief of Army Staff, COAS, Lieutenant-General Olufemi Oluyede’s philosophy aimed at transforming the Nigerian Army into a well-trained, well-equipped and highly motivated force,” he said.
On the annual cultural festival by the army, Nzan explained that the event was aimed at promoting cultural awareness, unity and harmony among military personnel and their families.
He said the event enabled personnel to celebrate the diverse cultural heritage of Nigeria with their families in a relaxed atmosphere, as well as showcase traditional dishes and attire.
Speaking at the event, Governor Abdullahi Sule appreciated the military and other security agencies for their efforts towards ensuring peace in the state and beyond.
Sule, represented by his Deputy, Emmanuel Akabe, promised to sustain support to security agencies, particularly in areas of operational vehicles and other logistics to ensure their smooth operation.
Sule lauded the commander for the developmental strides within the barracks in terms of school and road networks.
He promised to intervene to ensure that they have more good roads and other infrastructure.
Highlight of the event was a display of dance by different cultural groups and the presentation of awards to personnel who distinguished themselves. (NAN).
