APC Leadership: 100 APC Members Sue Buni

Chairman of the national caretaker committee of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Gov Mai Mala Buni, has been dragged to court by aggrieved members of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The party members numbering about 100 in Benue State have in the suit, filed over the status of the Caretaker/Extraordinary Convention (CECPC) of the APC, joins as defendants the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and others.

The aggrieved APC members through their lawyer, Samuel Irabor, in the suit before a Federal High Court in Abuja, sought an order of the court to dissolve the 13-member caretaker committee.

They are contending that Malami, who administered the oath of office on Gov. Mai Mala Buni of Yobe State as purported caretaker chairman lacks the powers to do so under any provision of the APC Constitution, 2014 (as amended) as he is neither a member of the National Working Committee nor even a member of the NEC of the APC.
