APC Convention: Lawyer Roots Support For Umahi

Paul Effiong,Abuja

As the ruling All Progressive (APC) Convention gets underway, an Abuja based legal practitioner, Barrister Moses Ofoeshi has called on delegates to shun all primordial and sectional interests and support the Ebonyi State governor, His Excellency Gov. Dave Umahi to emerge the standard flag bearer of the party.

Speaking with our Correspondent in Abuja, yesterday, the legal luminary described the governor as an epitome of humility who through good governance and infrastructural development has transformed Ebonyi State in recent years.

According to him, there is hope for the country if good people are allowed to occupy important positions in the country adding that the giant strides of Dave Umahi in Ebonyi State should be replicated at the national level and others states.

“I was privileged to travel to Ebonyi State recently on official duty; what I saw in the State shocked me. The level of development there was unprecedented. On closer contact with the governor, I discovered that he addressed and treats everybody with respect and humility, including those who are opposed to him.

“This is the kind of leader the country deserves at this point in our political journey. He made me know that the country has good leaders. But this is politics, it does not necessarily favour good people.

“The delegates should vote for those who can deliver and work for the country. The worst thing that can happen to anyone is to collect money and vote against his conscience.

Barr Ofeoshi who has practice law for over 3 decades, further appealed to delegates at the ongoing APC national Convention to vote not just for leaders but for those who will make Nigeria proud in the Committee of nations.

The legal icon further described Corruption in Nigeria as a monumental arguing that divine Providence would Judge looters adversely because of betraying the nation posterity.
