This development is coming on the heel of the last week humiliation of the Director General of National Oil Spill and Detection and Response Agency ( NOSDRA), Idris Musa and other heads of the agencies who refused to honour the invitations by the Committee.
While the Senate Committee Chairman and his Vice had expressed shock at the inability of Musa Idris, the NOSDRA boss to ” read” and comprehend the financial statement of NOSDRA, describing him as “unfit”, the Chairman of the committee had issued a Stern warning to National Agency for the Great green wall and Forestry and Research Institutes of Nigeria for its failure to honour its invitation.
“This Committee is warning any agency and its heads to henceforth treat the committee invitation with honour as we will no longer condone heads of agencies turning down our invitations,” Senator Hassan warned.
The Committee had directed the Clerk to issue fresh invitations to the agencies to report today Thursday.
While no reason was given at 3pm when the meeting was scheduled to take place at Committee 117 Senate building, the Clerk of the Committee in a dramatic twist announced that the media had been barred from further coverage of the investigative hearing because of the last outcome of the hearing where the Director General of NOSDRA, Idris Musa who was reported to have been humiliated following his inability to comprehend the Financial statement of the Agency.
