Chairman, Abuja Municipal Area Council, AMAC, Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, on Tuesday, performed a groundbreaking ceremony to commence the rehabilitation of a township road in the Lugbe Township Roads of the Council.
Speaking at the event, Maikalangu assured that his administration would meet the yearnings and aspirations of his residents and promised to continually provide dividends of democracy in line with good governance for the electorates who voted for him.
The AMAC Chair emphasized the vital role of infrastructure in boosting the economic conditions of the residents.
The event, held at Lugbe Primary School and Lugbe Chief Palace, marked a significant step in the council’s ongoing commitment to infrastructure development and enhancing the quality of life for its residents while highlighting the council’s achievements over the past two years, he said, “We are here once again for another legacy project as part of our landmark achievements within two years in office.
he said, “Today’s ceremony is a confirmation of my promises towards being responsive to the basic needs of our people.”
The Chairman outlined the broader vision of the council, which includes not only road construction but also rural electrification, water supply, health services, women and youth empowerment, and educational development.
“Few months ago at the ground breaking ceremony of Dnako community, I personally expressed my commitment to make positive impact by providing social amenities across the twelve wards of the Council that will directly impact the lives of my people economically. Today’s ceremony here is a confirmation of my promises towards being responsive to the basic need of our people”.
He appealed to residents to pay their taxes and levies to the government to facilitate these projects. “These projects wouldn’t have been possible if residents failed to pay their taxes and levies to the government.
He also appealed to all residents to please, pay their taxes and cooperate with AMAC in order to serve them better.
He called on traditional rulers, residents, property owners, and other stakeholders to support the contractors to ensure timely completion of the projects and to remain vigilant against sub-standard work.
He urged all AMAC citizens to guard public infrastructure provided by the government jealously.
“This ambitious undertaking underscores AMAC’s dedication to infrastructure development and sets a new benchmark for future projects aimed at enhancing the living standards of Abuja residents”.
