Allegations Against Emefiele Undemocratic, Femi Falana

By ABAH ADAH, Abuja

Femi Falana, a human rights lawyer, has said the series of allegations levelled against the governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Godwin Emefiele are undemocratic.

One of such allegations according to Falana who was a guest on a Channels TV programme on Monday was terrorism financing.

He noted that such action could only happen in a ‘banana republic’.

“I can say without any fear that Mr Godwin Emefiele has been quietly declared wanted by state Security Services.

“This can only happen in a banana republic where the CBN Governor would be accused of a grave offence, which is terrorism financing,” he said.

Recall that the CBN governor has returned to the country after he proceeded on leave in December.
