Benue State governor, Hyacinth Alia has charged the people, especially youths to form cooperative societies to enable his administration  support them to expand their farms and small businesses.

The governor gave the charge at St Roberts Catholic Parish, Gbem, Tsambe in Vandeikya Local Government Area during a thanksgiving service in honour of Reverend Father Manasseh Aondoakaa, on his 10th priestly anniversary.

He encouraged Benue people to return to agriculture where there is wealth, emphasising that his administration is ready to support those interested in going back to the farm to succeed.

The governor explained that his intention to construct rural roads, including that of Ushongo-Gbem to link Vandeikya axis, is to enhance free movement of people and agricultural produce to the market.

Alia also advised the people, particularly the Tivs to shun land dispute which is capable of destroying the good relationship they have with their neighbours.

In a remark, Reverend Father Aondoakaa emphasised the need for thanksgiving to God in all situations and commended Governor Alia for impacting in his life positively.

The cleric urged them to sustain support for the administration and always pray for Alia to succeed in the task of providing good governance to Benue people.
