Benue State Governor, Rev. Fr. Hyacinth Alia has appealed to christians in the state to pray for his administration for wisdom and understanding to provide good governance to the people.
Alia, who spoke during this years synod and annual general meeting of NKST worldwide held at Mkar, the headquarters of the Ministry, in Gboko, described the NKST as a denomination widely known for its efforts in propagating the gospel of Christ and to win souls through rural evangelism.
Represented by the Executive Secretary, State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, James Iorpuu, the Governor explained that his administration would remain committed towards revitalising all sectors of the state economy as well as restore and sustain participatory democracy for all Benue citizens to benefit.
He said regular payment of salaries, pensions and other emoluments would continue to be a priority of his administration, adding that government would equally continue with the opening up of rural and township roads as well as engage in massive employment of youths which are signs of the rescue mission of his administration.
The Governor assured of his desire to sustain cordial working relationship with the entire church in the state, promising to continue to support the church to also give assistance to its members for improved living standard.
The Governor, who announced a donation of N10million, 200 bags of maize and rice each as well as a life time scholarship to children from the NKST Mkar Orphanage, assured the church of government continued support.
Responding, President of the church, Pastor Adule expressed appreciation to the Governor for providing N50million for the completion of the church auditorium at the headquarters, as well as appointing Frederick Ikyaan, a senior pastor in the church, as Commissioner for Education.
