Agric Firm Restates Commitment To Massive Food Production

Private agricultural firm known as Davidorlah Nigeria Limited has called on the federal government to rearrange its priority and place agriculture in its rightful place.

The group also appealed to President Bola Tinubu to create an enabling environment for farmers across the country in order to address the incssant food insecurity, alleging that it has caused a lot of fear to farmers.

Speaking yesterday in a world press conference convened by the group at the National Assembly Complex Abuja, the Chairman/Chief Executive Officer,CEO, of the organization Oluwasegun Alabi disclosed some workable strategies  they have emplore in recent times, leading to massive food production.

Speaking under the theme: “Agriculture and its Impact” , the chief executive officer of the group identified agriculture as Nigeria’s major medium of foreign earning  before oil was discovered.

Accordingly, the establishment  advocated for more farmers, observing  that when food is produced massively, most young men and women who have gone insearched of greener pastures in foreign lands will have no alternative but to returned to their father land.

Responding to questions fielded by journalists on some reasons why most people prefer white collar job to farming, the group wondered why Nigeria, as the most populous black nation on the surface of the earth, should be engulfed in famine and food shortage, maintaining that Nigeria has several human and material resources to provide balanced diet and adequate food for the entire population.

Earlier in his remarks.Alabi  defined agriculture as a process of producing massive food, feed for animals, as well as the production of timber for  various industries, informing  that it the life blood of man, as well as the corner stone of all development.

The group also advised the federal government to address  pressing issues such as food insecurity  maintaining that it is important to always engage  the rightful farmers  and not political farmers who are only after money.

According to the group, “their pinapple farms has produced quality  fruits for several years, even as he called on prospective investors  to visit their farm and see things for themselves.

He, however, informed that they are open to partnership from government agencies and private individuals for the purpose  of ensuring adequate food production across the country and beyond.
