Nigeria has been named the host country for the All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA).
This was made known on Tuesday by the major Stakeholders; the African Union Commission (AUC) and the International Committee of AFRIMA at the African Union headquarters in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
The program, themed ‘Unstoppable Africa’, will be held in Lagos state from November 25 to 30, 2025. While praising the host city, the director for social development, culture and sport at the AUC, Angela Martins, said that Lagos has consistent excellence in hosting major international events.
“Lagos has the right mix of modern facilities, strong media presence, security and transport systems, and good hospitality that make it ideal for hosting a major global event,” she said.
The entry submissions will commence on May 27 and close on August 8, 2025. The event would feature over 1,600 nominees, 2,300 production crew members, and over 60,000 guests and delegates.
Also, it’s estimated to reach more than 400 million viewers globally through live broadcasts on 109 TV stations and other Media houses in about 84 countries.
